Holiday Hope

Mended Hearts would like to encourage you and yours to offer “Holiday Hope” this year. The campaign reminds us during the holiday season, a time when “hope” is most prominent with many, of the services we provide to heart patients, caregivers and families on a year-round basis.

In 2012, donations to Holiday Hope will go directly to the Mended Little Hearts Care Bag Program, helping families with children in the hospital around the nation. Many children are sent to a hospital away from home for open-heart surgery or other procedures. Some parents and caregivers find themselves with nothing more than the contents of their wallets or purses while they sit by their child’s bedside, hoping their baby survives. MLH care bags are sent to hospitals and directly to families and contain toiletry items and comfort items that help make a hospital stay easier. One mom who got a care bag said, “Getting that care bag made me cry. We felt like someone really cared about us—someone who knew exactly what we needed.”
