“On the Road” in 2016 Recap

In 2016, the Mended Hearts and Mended Little Hearts National Education and Training Conference will be “on the road” in six locations across the United States. With multiple locations, the conference will reach more heart patients, caregivers and families than ever before. Please explore the exciting journey we had training and educating our network of members in providing peer-to-peer support to heart patients in every community.

Southern Region – View the Final Program Agenda

Mended Hearts and Mended Little Hearts’ “On the Road” National Education & Training Conference made its sixth and final stop in Huntsville, Alabama. The event drew over 100 attendees and capped off a successful conference series. Huntsville drew members from 24 chapters in seven different states. Dr. Fredonia Williams, Southern Regional Director, led and inspired many throughout the conference and closed with a poignant poem about volunteers.

One of the medical presentations from Dr. Alex Vasquez, Huntsville Hospital cardiologist was highly rated as he shared an overview of the latest treatments in valve disease and TAVR.

Southwestern Region – View the Final Program Agenda

The fifth conference was held on September 23-24 in beautiful Austin, Tx and hosted 79 people from around the region for another great meeting in the Educational and Training Conference “On the Road”. One highlight of the conference was Kunjan Bhatt, MD, cardiologist from Heart Hospital of Austin who provided a comprehensive presentation of managing heart failure, including the latest treatments. 3rd Annual CHD Symposium – View the Final Program Agenda

Mended Little Hearts’ 3rd Annual CHD Symposium was yet another huge success. Speakers came from top children’s hospitals all around the nation to share the latest innovations in CHD treatment and care. Over 150 people attended the CHD Symposium live, and the CHD Symposium videos were viewed by over 11,000 more people within 72 hours. You can read more about the speakers HERE

The fourth conference was held on July 21-22 in lovely Chicago, Illinois and hosted over 100 people from around the two regions for an inspiring and enjoyable meeting.  One highlight of the conference was Vicki Groo, PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist Cardiology Clinical Associate Professor, Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine University of Illinois, Chicago speaking about Afib Arrhythmias. Mid-Atlantic Region – View the Final Program Agenda

On June 23 and 24, the Mended Hearts and Mended Little Hearts National Education & Training Conference “On the Road” made its third stop in Raleigh, North Carolina. Over 125 attendees from the Mid-Atlantic Region gathered together to learn about the latest advances in cardiovascular disease and connect with other heart patients and caregivers. Western Region – View the Final Program Agenda

The Western region conference was held on June 3-4, 2016 in Mission Viejo, California. Over 140 attendees listened to fabulous speakers and gained valuable time networking with other patients and families in their region.  Mission Hospital was the host of an engaging and interactive conference. One highlight of the conference was Peggy Kirkwood, Nurse Practitioner of Mission Hospital, discussed the symptoms and treatments of heart failure.  You can read more about the speakers HERE

The first conference was held on May 16-17 in beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona and hosted over 60 people from around the region for an educational and inspirational meeting.  One highlight of the conference was Wesley Tyree, MD, Cardiologist and Medical Director, HonorHealth, discussed preventing a second heart attack.
